Tuesday Tour Day — Nazareth College

first_yearFounded in 1924, Nazareth College was first recognized as a Catholic women’s college, with its first graduating class size being 25 women. Today, however, Nazareth College is recognized as a private, religiously independent college, located in Pittsford, NY. If you’re looking for a small, yet beautifully built campus, Nazareth College has just what you want. With roughly 2,000 students enrolled, you can expect to have small class sizes and one-on-one time with your professors.

Academics

Nazareth offers its students 64 undergraduate majors, and 28 graduate programs. The college is known for its art and music programs such as art education, studio art, music education, music therapy, and more. This is not all the college has to offer, however. You can also find majors such as biology, physical therapy, sociology, and more. With a 70 percent acceptance rate, if you have good grades and are committed to excellence, you have a good chance of being accepted to Nazareth.

Campus Life

More than 150 acres of expansive lawns and shady woodland groves provide the perfect scenery for reading a book or playing Frisbee with friends on campus. The college also offers more than 50 clubs and organizations for students to join. If you want to venture off-campus, downtown Rochester is just a cab ride away, and you can enjoy what Rochester nightlife has to offer. The beautiful carillon bells chime on the hour, and you can expect them to become part of your life at Nazareth.

Tuition

Because Nazareth is a private college, the cost of tuition is going to be more than a state college. Tuition for a full-time undergraduate student is $30,120 per year, plus $12,918 for room and board. In 2015, all of the incoming freshmen received financial assistance. More than $22 million in scholarships and grants were given out to students, making tuition much more affordable.
