Thinking about theater performance in college?

Consider getting an audition coach to help you through admissions!

Mary Anna Dennard, an audition coach and author of “I GOT IN! The Ultimate College Audition Guide For Acting And Musical Theatre” talked to her former students and asked what they have to say about the importance of college audition prep:

Gil Zabarsky, New York University (www.nyu.edu)

“Coaching provided help with the hundreds of practical matters that can drive you crazy, like how to dress, what your headshot should look like and how to present yourself. It was an endless source of guidance and information.”

Alyssa Finney, University of Southern California (www.usc.edu)

“It’s great to have a coach on your side to guide you. It gave me confidence and helped me know what to expect at my auditions. I am getting what I need in the most supportive setting while being able to take the academic classes that interest me.”

Hunter Herdlicka, Carnegie Mellon (www.cmu.edu)

“Coaching provided me with top-notch monologues geared to my specific type, as well as invaluable ‘mock’ auditions and interviews with college professors. My college training not only taught me my craft, but how to develop close relationships with directors, agents and casting directors when I moved to New York.”

Jennifer Foster, Texas State University (www.txstate.edu)

“Having a college audition coach helped me find audition pieces that accentuated my personality. I felt confident each time I walked into the audition room. My college training has helped me learn who I am, what I have to say as an artist in the world and how to live positively in a business that is full of rejection.”

Jordan Andre, University of Michigan (www.umich.edu)

“Proper college audition preparation enables the student to show colleges their full potential. The right songs and monologues and a carefully written essay can help the student in many ways. For me, college training will be a pivotal experience.”

The Princeton Review has done a really great series of Hangouts this week on Google+ connecting high school students with top Universities around the country on topics of financial aid, student life, and the admissions process. Many of these great questions are expanded on and students can watch videos that have already happened. It wraps up tomorrow with a final event: https://plus.google.com/events/cgv308nfft3ao7mubmu7d968oa4?e=

Really great resource for High School students exploring all different majors and academic areas.
