Tuesday Tour Day – Regis College

This week, let’s take a tour of Regis College!

Regis College is a four year Catholic liberal arts and sciences college. It was founded in 1927 by the Sisters of Saint Joseph. It became co-educational in 2007 and currently has an enrollment of 1152 undergraduates and 732 graduates from seventeen states and thirty-one countries. Our 132 acre campus is located in Weston, Massachusetts, just 12 miles outside of Boston.

Regis offers small classes with an average class size of 18 students so students have the chance to participate in class. With a student to faculty ratio of 13:1 students have an opportunity to work closely with professors. There are seventeen majors and thirty minors, honors program, teacher licensure, and combined bachelor and master’s option. We focus on helping students succeed not only in their careers but in their personal lives as well.

Housing is guaranteed all four years and you can live in one of our four residence halls. There are more than thirty student organizations that vary from cultural groups to academic groups to individual hobbies. With the wide array of options students are guaranteed to find something they enjoy doing and have many opportunities to get involved on campus.

In 2009 we completed our athletic complex which includes an eight lane track, turf field, a softball field, and six tennis courts. Classes are taught in several buildings such as, College Hall, the Science Building and the Fine Arts Center. There are four residence halls. There is a Student Success Center where students can get in help their classes and peer tutoring. All this is spread throughout our beautiful 132 acre campus.

We are NCAA Division III and have teams for basketball, field hockey, tennis, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, volleyball, and track and field. We also offer intramural sports based on current students interests. We give everyone the opportunity to play a sport if they are interested.

Tuition is $31,785 and room and board is $12,800. There is a wide array of scholarships offered to students. Students can also apply for loans through the FAFSA application. Freshman students are required to submit a completed application along with a high school transcript and SAT or ACT scores. The SAT average is a 900 without the writing component.
