fsuAre you ready to become a Bulldog? Ferris State University, a public university located in Big Rapids, Mich., is ready to welcome you. Located on over 880 acres, with more that 117 buildings on the main campus, FSU has all that you’re looking for and more. If you want to attend a large college, but are worried you will get lost in a sea of students, Ferris State falls right into the category of a mid-sized university, with roughly 14,000 students. The university prides itself in having a student-to-faculty ratio of 16-to-1.

Academics

If you are still undecided what you want to major in in college, FSU has over 180 degree programs to choose from. With academic programs ranging from advertising to optometry, and everything in between, Ferris State is sure to have what you’re looking for. Each class has around 25 students, so you will not be just another number to your professor. The university offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate degree programs. For your convenience, they have on-campus and online classes to suit every student’s particular needs.

Campus Life

Attending Ferris, you will most certainly not be bored, seeing as the university offers more than 220 registered student organizations. On campus, you will find academic clubs, sports teams, Greek life, and more. Getting involved in one or more of these amazing organizations can guarantee that you will make lifelong connections and friends. FSU has 14 major Division II sports teams, and one Division I team.

Tuition

For Michigan residents, tuition is $10,970 per year plus $9,434 for room and board. For out of state residents, tuition is $17,562 per year plus room and board. If you are concerned about tuition costs, fear not: FSU offers six different scholarships for incoming freshmen, along with one scholarship offered for out-of-state students.
