Welcome to my NextStepU blog! I’m Katie Steelman, a soon-to-be senior at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY and current NextStepU intern.

With the “real world” looming less than a year away, I’ve been trying to fit in as much useful extracurricular experience as possible while still maintaining my sanity as a busy college student. So far the great writing experience + the supportive team at NextStepU has made interning here a great way to do just that.

For the next several weeks I will be sharing some of my experiences and what I have – and still haven’t – figured out during my time as a college student. I plan to discuss my study abroad experience in Spain (I’m double majoring in Spanish and communication/journalism) and to address that crazy myth about finding the “perfect school.” I will attempt to clear up some misconceptions about Catholic colleges, and I might even weigh in on the epic Mac vs. PC debate.

Please feel free to leave comments or questions, or to suggest a blog topic – I’ll try to write what you want to know!
