The words “presentation” and “PowerPoint” are synonymous…along with the word “sleep”.
Prezi is PowerPoint’s worst nightmare but can be a dream come true for you.
As a presenter, you can zip from one spot on a canvas to another, zooming in and out on details and showing connections between concepts. This allows you to show (and lets the audience see) the big picture.
Just try not to feel intimidated. It’ll take some experimenting and practice to get the hang of it, but there’s a step-by-step tutorial that walks you through the basics.
You don’t have to pay for Prezi, either – as long as you’re OK with limited template variety, a smaller storage capacity and having the Prezi stamp on the bottom of your presentation. If you’re still looking for more features, you have the option to purchase a subscription. Otherwise, all you need is Flash and access to the Internet to get started.
Be a pioneer with Prezi and create a more memorable, comprehensible presentation. I’ve used it myself and trust me, you’ll get a “What was that?!” from at least one person in the audience. Instead of hearing snores and sighs of relief after your presentation is over, you’ll be seeing a standing ovation.
