Morgan State is a Carnegie-classified Doctoral Research Professional Institution, offering more than 90 academic programs from baccalaureate to doctoral levels.
Morgan State is a national academic leader. In the ranking of the nation’s universities awarding the highest number of Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate Degrees to African Americans, today, Morgan is:
- 1st among HBCUs nationwide in the number of Fulbright Scholars graduated, and 1st among HBCUs nationwide in Fulbright Scholars on faculty
- 2nd among all campuses nationwide in the number of doctorates awarded to African Americans in engineering
- 3rd among campuses nationwide awarding bachelor’s degrees in engineering and architecture to African Americans
At Morgan, it’s about the Experience! Students can choose from 66 student organizations offering a wide selection of social and cultural activities, including theater, band chorale, dance and jazz ensemble, and 10 Greek Fraternities and Sororities.
Morgan is a founding member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. All intercollegiate teams compete at the NACAA Division 1 level, with the exception of football, which participates in Division I-AA.
