Let’s take a tour of Hiram College!

Founded in 1850, Hiram College remains one of the nation’s most respected liberal arts institutions. Located 40 miles southeast of Cleveland in Ohio’s historic Western Reserve, Hiram attracts students from throughout the United States and and enrolls approximately 1,300 students in its traditional undergraduate, Weekend College and graduate programs.

Hiram College offers over 30 majors ranging from creative writing to neuroscience, as well as pre-med, pre-vet and other pre-professional programs.

There are 13 residence halls on the Hiram College campus, including the new suite-style East Hall and the 26 townhouse apartments, both of which are open to upperclassmen. The dining hall has an eclectic menu, from simple grilled cheese to pizza, pasta, burgers, a fresh salad bar to international dishes like Japanese beef yakitori. Another dining option is the Kennedy Center Bistro, which offers Starbucks coffee as well as a number of signature items, a variety of salads, upscale sandwiches, pasta, soup and grill items.

There are also more than 70 student clubs and organizations including community service organizations, Greek social clubs, Student Senate, Terrier Sound marching band and drill team, academic clubs and organizations, student newspaper, yearbook, religious organizations and intramural and club sports.

Hiram competes in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), a member of NCAA’s Division III. They offer men’s and women’s intercollegiate varsity sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, volleyball, football. The College also offers intramural and club sports, geared to athletes of all fitness levels and interest.

For the 2009-2010 academic year, greater than 90% of entering students received some form of need-based financial aid. The average grant or scholarship aid received was $19,125.

All prospective students are considered holistically for admittance into Hiram.
