Scholarship: “Premios Juventud” (Youth Awards) scholarship presented by Dr Pepper
Amount: One student will be honored with $50,000 and the runner-up with $25,000.
Requirements: Scholarship applicants must be high school seniors of Hispanic heritage pursuing a higher education.
Details: To be eligible to apply for the “Premios Juventud” scholarship presented by Dr Pepper, students must currently be in their senior year of high school with sufficient credits to graduate in the spring term of 2014. They also must be fluent in Spanish, reside in the continental United States of America or in Puerto Rico and have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher based on a 4.0 scale. Students must be of Hispanic heritage (see application form for more details), have a valid social security number, and either be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card. Students must already be accepted to attend an accredited college or university, as defined by The Council for Higher Education Accreditation that is based in the continental U.S. or in Puerto Rico to start on fall of 2014.
Deadlines: Applications must be postmarked by May 16, 2014. The winners of the scholarship will be announced during Univision Network’s 11th annual “Premios Juventud” show on Thursday, July 17.
