How to search for scholarships the right way

typingMoney, money, money it’s something everyone thinks about and stresses over when applying to college. Can I afford this? How long will I be in debt for when I graduate? You ask yourself all of these questions, but at the same time, paying back all those loans seems so far away when you’re talking about.

Well let me tell you, as someone who graduated college six months ago and the “grace-period” to pay back those loans has ended; the time to pay back those college loans comes A LOT faster than you think.

The time to take advantage of not being in debt for the rest of your life, literally, is now. There are more scholarships out there to give you money for college than you can even imagine. Yes it takes time to look for the scholarship and apply for it, but trust me; it’s worth it in the end.

Most scholarships you apply for will require an application form, probably an essay or short questions to answer and maybe even an interview. It may seem like a tedious task and you don’t want to put that time and effort in, but four years from now you will thank yourself for taking the extra amount of time.

There are numerous places you can look for scholarships. You can talk to a school counselor, simply do a Google search or check out the website of the college you’re planning on attending. You should also check into wherever your parents work, a lot of major companies and organizations offer scholarships for students.

Almost everything has a scholarship, and I mean everything. Whether it’s through academics, athletics or extracurricular activities you’ve participated in, there is a scholarship out there, and you don’t want to pass it up.
