This week, let’s take a tour of Texas A&M: Corpus Christi campus!
Exploring the depths of the Gulf of Mexico, performing on the finest stage in the Coastal Bend and undertaking new research to improve the lives of those in our community form the enriching experiences offered at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. We’re an active campus where our students, faculty and staff make all the difference.
As an Islander, your colleagues will be top-flight students from across Texas, throughout the nation and around the world. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 18:1, you’ll know your classmates and enjoy a more personalized approach to teaching. And our faculty are highly accomplished, with 90 percent of them holding the highest degrees in their fields.
Where else can you blend daily work in classrooms and laboratories and evening walks along the beach on “your own island”? Yes, we’re a bit tropical, and the only university campus in the nation that expands along all the edges of its own island. However, we’re more than beautiful scenery. Along with modern buildings, an extensive library, cultural venues, recreational facilities and the many amenities that support an enjoyable quality of life, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is also a community.
The Mary and Jeff Bell Library is the university’s major resource for research and study. The library houses a collection of 1.1 million books, bound periodicals, microforms and government publications. It maintains subscriptions to more than 2,800 serials and research sets. You’ll have electronic access to thousands of journals, newspapers and other resources.
The Performing Arts Center features a 1,500-seat concert hall where local, national and international artists perform. The Center for the Arts houses the Warren Theatre, the Wilson Studio Theatre and the Weil Gallery. Also affiliated with A&M-Corpus Christi are the Art Museum of South Texas, the Antonio E. Garcia Arts and Education Center and the Islander Art Gallery.
