In addition to giving us T-shirts to give away, Saint Leo University’s Martin Smith, assistant vice president of enrollment, gave us this advice to share with you:
“Start developing a list of schools you’re interested in early (sophomore/junior year),” Smith says.
He advises that students start visiting schools during their junior year when there are students on campus. “Narrow down your list of potential schools to 3-5 schools that you will apply to in the fall of your senior year. Be realistic about your abilities and pay attention to deadlines; this is a big decision so make sure you include your parents and seek advice from friends, family, and your high school guidance counselor.”
