It’s been said that love is all around you. It’s everywhere you go. With that in mind, how could we choose the most romantic college campus for tuesday tour day? Choosing a college is all about what YOU love. Maybe that means a great financial aid package, a Division I athletic program, well-maintained campus grounds, or gourmet-level dining hall food.
So, rather than focus on a college campus today, we are “taking a tour” of romantic college majors. By this, we mean majors that have some association with romance, whether it be in the title, subject matter or tradition. Enjoy!
Romantic majors
Romance languages
According to the College Board, romance languages are more than the language of love. They are languages that derive from Latin, the ancient language of Rome. Romance languages include French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Catalan and Romanian. Students of the romance languages can expect to study linguistics, literature and the cultural history behind their chosen concentration.
English literature
Do you love reading, writing and examining the themes of literature? The College Board says that English lit majors read and analyze many different types of texts, from Chaucer and Shakespeare to Austin and Kerouac.
Creative arts
Whether you are an artist, musician, composer or actor, the creative arts have long been associated with emotional influence. Successful creative arts majors have talent, ambition and the ability to think outside the box.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
