Morgan State is a Carnegie-classified Doctoral Research Professional Institution, offering more than 90 academic programs from baccalaureate to doctoral levels.
Our students are challenged in our classrooms to think deeply and critically about the issues of the past and present, and to imagine a future where they are at the epicenter of innovation and leadership. Our students are obtaining a world class education and they are taught to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-life communities, from Maryland to New Jersey and from Virginia to Haiti and beyond.
At Morgan, it’s about the Experience! Students can choose from 66 student organizations offering a wide selection of social and cultural activities, including theater, band chorale, dance and jazz ensemble, and 10 Greek Fraternities and Sororities. Students can also get involved in a number of business and leadership development programs, such as: The Spokesman, a student-run newspaper or WEAA-FM, a student-run radio station.

Morgan is a founding member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. All intercollegiate teams compete at the NACAA Division 1 level, with the exception of football, which participates in Division I-AA. Men’s sports include basketball, cross-country, football, tennis, and track and field. Women’s sports include basketball, bowling, cross-country, softball, tennis, track and field, volleyball and cheerleading.
