NextStepU is happy to help guide you toward scholarships and opportunities to earn money for college. Here is a new scholarship we found for you!
Scholarship: Generation TX (pronounced “Generation Texas”) from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
Amount: Seniors are eligible for $1,500 college scholarship. 9th-11th graders are eligible for a $1,500 prize.
Requirements: Students are being asked to create an original 2-3 minute Take the Challenge! video that creatively reflects how they’re challenging themselves to follow a successful path to college and career. Students are asked to show in the video how they’re taking steps for one (or all) of these things:
• Enrolling in a rigorous academic plan in school
• Involving parents and family as they prepare for college and career
• Preparing right now to fill out the best college application through ApplyTexas.org and to pay for college (high school seniors only)
Details: Generation TX will award a $1,500 college scholarship/prize to the student producer of the winning Take the Challenge! video. The top five video finalists will be featured on www.GenTX.org/TakeTheChallenge for public voting. The high school campus that completes the most ApplyTexas.org college applications during GenTX Week will be recognized with the GenTX Week Star Award and receive $1,000 of GenTX swag.
