Now in its 14th year, the Duck® brand Stuck at Prom® Scholarship Contest challenges students in the United States and Canada to create their promwear out of Duck Tape® for a chance to win scholarship dollars for college. Since 2001, Duck® brand has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarship money to students and schools, and, this year, more than $50,000 is up for grabs!
Giving high schoolers everything they need to craft their prom fashions, Duck Tape® is available in a vibrant assortment of colors, designs and licenses, as well as new innovative formats like Duck Tape® Sheets and Ducklings™ mini rolls — making it easy to enhance designs with intricate detail.
The Stuck at Prom® entry period starts March 10, 2014, and ends May 23, 2014. A panel of judges will then choose 10 finalist couples based on workmanship, originality, use of colors, accessories and use of Duck Tape®. Those couples will be narrowed down to Grand Prize, Second and Third place winners during a public online voting period on StuckAtProm.com, which will open on June 10, 2014, and end on July 8, 2014, with winners announced on or about July 16, 2014.
The Grand Prize winners will each receive a $10,000 scholarship; $5,000 will be awarded to the school that hosted the prom they attended. The second place award is $5,000 for each of the students and $3,000 for the school that hosted the prom, and both the students in third place will receive $3,000, with $2,000 going to the school that hosted the prom. The remaining seven couples in the judge-selected Top 10 will each receive a $500 scholarship, as well as $500 for the school that hosted the prom.
