Dear NextStepU, a Q&A with our editor

Got a question about college planning that you need answers to? Our editor, Katie Barry, gives answers (and hopefully good advice!) to you, our readers!

Q: What if I don’t know what I want to be “when I grow up?” Should I wait to go to college, or just wait to declare a major?

A: If you want to go to college, but aren’t quite sure what career path you want to take, then hit the books, the internet and every available resource possible to find out what it is you might be interested in.

Talk to people in careers that you think you might like, ask to do an internship or follow someone on a shadow day. Starting your college career as an undecided major is widely acceptable, but keep in mind that, eventually, you will have to decide.

Start exploring your options now! It’s never too early to think about your future.
