Today, NextStepU would like to take you on a tour of Lehman College.
Lehman College was established in 1968 as an independent college of The City University of New York and named for Herbert H. Lehman, the great New York Governor, U.S. Senator, philanthropist, and humanitarian.
Lehman is a public, comprehensive, coeducational liberal arts college with more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs and specializations. Academic programs range from science, business, teacher education, and social work to recreation education and nursing.
Lehman’s students come from more than 90 countries around the world. Lehman College has a very active campus with more than 20 clubs and organizations, which allow students to pursue social, academic and creative interests.
The 37-acre, tree-lined campus is located in the northwest Bronx; 15 buildings include a Center for the Performing Arts, a College Art Gallery, four venues for theatre and dance, a Speech and Hearing Clinic, and The APEX, a world-class facility for sports and recreation, and a new science building is underway.
