We are continuing with the new “Meet Our Friend” feature today. On “Meet Our Friend” Mondays we’ll be sharing with you products and companies we find out about that you might be interested in, and then we work with those companies to get you discounts and offers only NextStepU fans and users have access to!

Today we introduce you to Learn That WordCustom training modules help you to prepare for the SAT, build an academic vocabulary, or prepare for the TOEFL or IELTS exam. The more time we spent on this site becoming comfortable with what they had to offer, the more useful we found it.

The site breaks words down easily depending on your level and ultimate goal. Using simple quizzes tailored to your individual needs, Learn That Word functions at the same pace you do; only moving you forward when the program is sure you have mastered the first task. It sends follow-up emails after each quiz to remind you how you are doing and what words you struggled with.

A free account, which is available to everyone, will get you unlimited access to some good tools, but a premium account can get you unlimited access to great lessons! Your premium account will be given priority; feeding you your statistics, awarding prizes, and allowing you to share an account with a teacher or family member. A premium account also gives you the option to not be charged until you’ve made progress so that you pay as they fulfill their promise to help you.

While the site is useful, it does take some getting used to. It took us some searching to find out exactly what the goal was, how the site could be helpful, and where to find the quizzes. Once we figured it out, though, we spent even more time using the tools and benefiting from them.

Enter code “NextStepU” into the “How did you hear” field at registration or checkout and you’ll get a 10% discount.

Price: Free for most features. Premium membership offers vary from $2.49 to $9.50 per month.
